Introducing our Midwestern Fellows
Check out who’s coming from Michigan, Minnesota, and Nebraska
When I say the Kairos fellowship is nationwide, I really really mean that. It’s so national that we have every region in the U.S. covered. So, in order to introduce the 100+ fellows participating this year, I’m taking a regional approach. Each month, you’ll learn about a different region of Fellows, who they are, what they are working on, and how the fellowship has impacted their organizing.
First up: the Midwest. I asked some of my Kairos coworkers who also happen to be our resident Midwesterners (or family of Midwesterners) for fun facts. Here’s a few of what I got:
“We are known for fantastic natural resources.”
“We are very proud of our ability to weather storms and winter and tough conditions.”
“[The Midwest] has these really beautiful squirrels – much nicer and cuter than regular old northeast squirrels.” (Note: I can’t vouch for this)
“People hold the door for you.” (Note: Now, this I can give testimony on)
We have an impressive group of Fellows from organizations in the Midwest, with organizers working on issues that range from energy sovereignty to elections to economic justice. Check them all out below including their personal organizer #hashtag:
