Looking back at 2024
And a thank you

It’s December and we are officially in “circle back” season. I take this moment in Q4 very seriously. Let’s plan for 2025! Want to have a meeting? Schedule it for mid-January. Because let’s be honest, we’re all trying to get to inbox zero and focused on how many naps we can take in preparation for next year.
Speaking of next year and in all seriousness, a new administration will be sworn in at the top of the new year. While another 4 years of Trump will be a challenge to our movements, our core fights to create a better world for our people don’t change. And a Trump presidency doesn’t take away all that we have fought for — this is a moment to double down and not lose sight of long-term goals. So, while we absolutely should be taking the time to rest, I hope that gears us up for organizing in 2025.
With my sights set on the new year, I want to take a moment to thank you for being subscribers and readers of ReOrganized.
When I restarted ReOrganized this year, I had 3 goals:
1: Tell stories that connect technology to organizing
2: Give y'all insight to what’s happening at Kairos
3: Write things that are interesting and helpful for your organizing efforts and understanding of technology issues
Hopefully you’ve gotten to experience a bit of all three over the course of 2024. Just in case you missed anything, here’s a recap of what we were up to at ReOrganized this year:
From stan to stalker: How data brokers enable celebrity fandoms to be their worst selves
TikTok and the U.S. government are fighting: These two have just as much beef as Kendrick and Drake
Why abortion is also a tech issue: On the Supreme Court mifepristone decision and what’s next
The brat of it all: How the vibe of the internet streets has shifted post-Biden dropout
Guide to the 2024 Presidential Election: Tech & the Internet
And you can read all of the stories about our Fellowship and Fellows here.
Looking ahead to 2025: The political terrain is changing, with Big Tech increasingly ingrained in nearly every aspect of government and our daily lives. ReOrganized will be here as a place to hold a mirror up to big tech's impact on our daily lives and discuss how we are fighting for power in the digital realm.
If you can, take a moment to invite a friend or colleague to subscribe to ReOrganized.
See y’all in the new year!
